With spring in the air, so is the excitement of live music, fun in the sun, camping and good food – the festival experience. Penn-Shank Memorial is proud to announce the 1st annual Rooster Walk Music and Arts Festival on May 23 at Blue Mountain Productions’ festival venue in Martinsville, Va.
Rooster Walk is a one-day, one-night event with loads of great music, arts, crafts, food and games for all to enjoy. Ranging from rock to bluegrass and reggae to funk, we’ve booked an incredible group of bands.
General admission tickets are only $20 in advance or $25 at the gate, and children 12 and younger are admitted free. Camping is available on-site for $10 per vehicle (be sure to carpool!), and we’re only minutes from town for those who prefer to stay in a hotel.
Rooster Walk was created to celebrate the lives of two Martinsville natives who passed away recently: Edwin “The Rooster” Penn and Walker Shank. These young men touched us in ways that will never be forgotten, and we hope to create an experience that would make them proud.
And don’t forget: The best part about Rooster Walk is that IT’S ALL FOR CHARITY!!! We’ve created an endowment fund to generate a yearly college scholarship for area high school students.
Rooster Walk can truly become a huge success with your continued support. Please consider opportunities t volunteer or make charitable donations.
It’s only weeks away, and when the Rooster crows, you better be there!

Thanks to everyone involved in this project. The website is so professional. Ralph and I appreciate all that you have done to make this a special and memorable experience. I know many people that are not on Facebook that say they are coming to this event. Much love to all the friends of Walker and Edwin that are making this possible. Your hours of hard work are appreciated and your work will be successful.
